Between 1994 and 2007, our oceans absorbed 34 gigatons of the world’s
carbon through algae, vegetation, and coral. In other words, the trees
might not save us—but the oceans could:

Be careful what you wish for. In the past, plants have sucked so much
carbon dioxide out of the air that they've plunged the planet into such
cold that it barely recovered with life intact.

It's a battle; sometimes CO2 breathers gain ground;
other times, atmospheric oxygen consumers take the lead.

Hey, Sylvia, normally you sound perceptive but you
sure sound stupid when it comes to how LITTLE
effect the trace amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere
actually have on mean global temperature.

Stop buying into the warmingtard lies, please.

Visit this web site for some actual science:

https://jancovici.com/en/climate-change/ghg-and-carbon-cycle/what-gases-are-greenhouse-gases/

Take note of the pie chart where water vapor and clouds
amount to 72% of the so called "greenhouse gases"

Why is it then that the socialists aren't trying to impose
a world tax on water? It's because they know that water
cannot be demonized like carbon dioxide and they also
know that carbon dioxide is the direct path to their
attempting to generate economy-ruining taxes on
"carbon".

Different gases have different levels of effect in proportion to their
concentrations. Carbon dioxide has a high effect, and while its direct
overall contribution may be lower than that due to water vapour, it is
not that low, and it is one whose concentration man has the ability to
alter.

In addition, a temperature rise caused by an increase carbon dioxide
concentration will also result in a higher water vapour concentration,
so the affect of carbon dioxide is amplified.

The geological records show a good correlation between global
temperature and carbon dioxide concentration.

What geological records (ice core studies) show is FIRST the

Perhaps you should examine why warmingtards keep getting
it exactly backwards by claiming that first the atmospheric
CO2 rises and that CAUSES higher global temperatures?

You can't call that bit of idiocy science. It doesn't even come
close.

Water's residency time in the atmosphere is so low it only acts as a
multiplier for other GHGs, such as CO2.

I don't think anyone seriously wants to risk another ice age, and we
were about due for one.

If it were possible to agree what the most desirable global temperature,
and thus climate, is, the best option would be to modulate our carbon
dioxide output so as to maintain that temperature. (Note to rabid
greenies, a zero carbon economy is probably a bad idea).

Whether such an agreement would be possible is a different matter. It
may be that some countries closer to the poles would prefer a warmer
planet, especially if it opened the north-west passage to shipping.

China might quite like that, was well as the opportunity to sell more
air conditioners to the warmer countries.

Gosh Sylvia, Maybe you didn't notice that earth climate (actually
climate not descriptions of it in journo-science) has onl change 1.5
degree since 1880. I call that AMAZING stability given the variations in
CO2 levels of which man's contribution is obviously minor. Remember
lefty libs don't do quantity.

Russia, China and Canada would all love some warming. Especially with
the USA getting more tropical like central American banana republics.

FINALLY, you get to the REAL cause of global warming - insolation.

Since the Sun continues to increase its energy output, the Earth
will continue to warm and there is little humankind can do about
it. Resistance is futile!

Relax and enjoy the extra warmth.

Be careful what you wish for. In the past, plants have sucked so much
carbon dioxide out of the air that they've plunged the planet into such
cold that it barely recovered with life intact.
Back when the sun was only 80% as bright as it is now.
FINALLY, you get to the REAL cause of global warming - insolation.
Since the Sun continues to increase its energy output, the Earth
will continue to warm and there is little humankind can do about
it. Resistance is futile!
Relax and enjoy the extra warmth.
TSI has fallen since the peak in solar activity in the early 2000s, Mr.
Dumnass Bozopants.

that's when the aurora went nuts
We had a big aurora that blew all the fuses in Quebec - 1991 I think.
We saw a lot of pink and orange with green patches so we sat on the deck
and watched. The next day the Quebec guy at work was making fun of the
news guy on Montreal TV because he had a thick h'accent when he blamed
the electricity prob-lem on ze zun spots.

The timescale for that is hundreds of millions of years. The warming
we're encountering now, on a much shorter timescale, comes from
something else.

Mockery of Thunberg just further proves the point made in

-- you can't fault her actual message, so you attack the messenger.

Tacit admission that climate change is real, is human caused, and is a
matter of urgent concern accepted from both of you.

SPNAK!
